Gifford Pinchot November 16, 2003 course results: White  Yellow  Orange  Green  Red  Meet Director: Mike Wenz Coursesetter: Mike Wenz (W,Y,O), Mike Ball (G,R) Helpers: Mike Ball, Marilee Ball, Michelle Wenz, Whitney Rufo, Julie Keim, Scott Fitzpatrick Meet Directors Comments: We had a fantastic turnout even though the day started out a bit cool. There was a lot more water out on the course than had been anticiapted by the course setters (sorry about that!) and even the people who went out on the beginner courses got a good taste of having to find their way through swampy areas trying to not get too wet. I would like to pay particular thanks to the helpers at this meet. If the names sound all too familiar, I agree. We seem to be getting into a rut with our help. Perhaps people should make it one of their New Year's resolution to help out at some of our meets! First I want to thank Mike and Marilee Ball. Mike set the Green and Red courses and ran the Finish table while Marilee took charge of the registration and handled the tremendous crowds of people with ease (as usual). Once again we had the start crew of Michelle Wenz and Whitney Rufo. It's amazing how efficiently that pair of 12 year olds can run the starts, but that is probably because they have had a lot of practice at every one of our meets! Not only did they run the starts, but they had set up all of the controls on the White course by themselves. Since nobody complained about a control not being where it should have been, they must have done a pretty good job at it! Julie Keim once again spent more time helping out than out on her course, and Scott Fitzpatrick almost lost a shoe in the mud when we sent him out to collect some of the controls from the White and Yellow courses (sorry about that Scott!)
