Gifford Pinchot State Park October 22, 2000 course results: White  Yellow  Orange  Green  Red  Course Setter: Mark Voit Meet Director: Brad Whitmore Helpers: Scott Fitzpatrick, Ann Marie + John + Julie + Karen Kalloz, Mark Voit, Pat Zerfas We had a beautiful autumn day for the event with the leaves just starting to change colors. The family award would have to go to the Kalloz family who ran 4 courses, with the Cornish family close behind with 3 courses. Julie Kalloz brought along a fold-out display on orienteering she made for school. The theme was showing the variety of orienteering challenges using several covers from Orienteering North America (the magazine that comes free when you join the United States Orienteering Federation). Hot (Arizona), cold (ski-orienteering), wet (someone swimming across a small pond instead of running around it; not recommended !), dry, young (string-O), old ... You get the picture. Hopefully she will bring it along to future meets. The meet itself went very smoothly with lots of good comments about the courses, a few grumbles about the brambles in places (this was Gifford Pinchot after all), and almost everyone finishing their courses. Thanks to the support crew we had everything cleaned up and out of the woods by 4:30.
