Camp Mack May 9, 1999 course results: White  Yellow  Orange  Green  Red  Blue  This was a unique event for SVO. A Mother's Day race as well as a Share-the-Trails time with the Pennsylvania championships for bikers. I knew that Mother's Day was May 9, and that there would be some kind of bicycle race at Camp Mack, but only the day before the event did I find out how much it would affect our plans. It meant shifting the Finish out of the Parking Lot, relocating parking for orienteers, and doing lots of streamering to avoid congestion in the main parking lot where the bikers' races started and finished. My thanks go to to the orienteers who adjusted to these changes as well as to the bikers who generally were polite and warned people on the trails that they were approaching from behind at speeds we're not used to. Although one orienteer was able to pass some bikers on an uphill leg, and, also, politely warned them he was passing. The terrain is still steep, and times were generally longer than ideal, despite shortening the courses to try and compensate. Maybe that is just a given for Camp Mack. Anyway, here are the results.
