Camp Mack November 15, 1998 course results: White  Yellow  Orange  Green  Red  Course Setter: Jim Browne Helpers: Mike Ball, Marilee Ball, Brad Whitmore, Eddie Bergeron We had beautiful weather, kind of a scarcity in our meets here. Also a nice turnout. Unfortunately, there were some pretty long times on several of the courses.This is an area famous for the steep climbs and I tried to take that into consuderation in designing the courses by making them on the short side.However, not enough I guess. I think there were also some people on the Orange course who were not quite ready for the navigation required of an intermediate course. In any case, future course setters might may take the difficulties of this area into account by making things easier for the average orienteer and including a Blue course for those who want to, and can, push for a long and challenging course. That said, there were some really fine runs by Eddie Bergeron and Brad Whitmore on the Red course, and Jeff Whitehead on Yellow. Jeff, time to move up. On White, my stepgrandson Henry Janos, 11 months, pushed his parents and grandmother to take first place. Once he can walk, he may have real potential in the sport.
