Our seasonal kick-off event at Kings Gap was a success once again. Over fifty folks made the trek up to the mansion despite threatening weather. (It even snowed while we were hanging some of the controls!) After enough indoor instruction to guarantee that the outdoor weather had improved, seventeen sets of new orienteers challenged themselves on Mark Frank's course, designed over a decade ago.
Last fall we lost two orienteers for quite a while, but this spring's losses were much more mundane. Two groups lost equipment while out and had to go back to find it (successfully, we note). Everyone seemed to enjoy themselves and, as usual, we look forward to seeing some of these people in the woods this spring.
